TEHRAN, Aug. 05 (MNA) – Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani will depart for Azerbaijan’s capital Baku on Aug. 7 to hold bilateral talks and attend the first Iran-Russia-Azerbaijan trilateral meeting.

Parviz Esmaeili, deputy for communications and information at the president’s office, said Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin and Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev will gather in Baku next Monday, August 8, to confer on various issues for trilateral cooperation including energy, trade, communications, environment, transportation, transit and combating terrorism.

He went on to add that a bilateral meeting with President Putin has been arranged on various points of mutual interest and in line with the Islamic Republic’s trend of cooperation with Russia.

“On Sunday, August 7, President Rouhani and President Aliyev will hold a bilateral meeting to discuss the process of the implementation of agreements between the two countries, and confer on new rounds of cooperation in the fields of trade, industry, energy, culture, banking transactions, consular services, communications and rail transport,” he added.

On this trip, a number of joint industrial units will be implemented in Azerbaijan along with the transfer of technology from Iran.

President Rouhani will be accompanied by a number of ministers and other senior officials on this visit. He will return home Monday afternoon.
