On Sunday, Mohammad Javad Zarif appointed new FM spokesperson, thus ending not-so-long incumbency of Mr. Hossein Jaberi Ansari as FM Spokesperson who had assumed the position after Ms. Marzieh Afkham had flown to Malaysia to serve as the country’s the only woman ambassador.
Yet the changes promoted Jaberi Ansari in administrative echelon to the position of Deputy-Ministry for Arab and African Affairs. Mr. Jaberi Ansari will replace Hossein Amir-Abdollahian who will now serve as an adviser to Zarif.
Jaberi’s new replacement is Bahram Ghassemi who received his mandate from Zarif as new head of Public and Media Diplomacy Center of the Foreign Ministry. He had served as Iran’s ambassador to Republic of Ireland, Italy, and Spain, and as head of Second Political Division, First Commonwealth Division, Director-General of Western Europe Division, and also served as International Research Deputy in Strategic Research Center of the Expediency Council.
