Brig. Gen. Hossein Dehghan told reporters on Saturday that no limitations would be considered for military drills, especially in territorial waters in Persian Gulf and Sea of Oman in the south; “the Islamic Republic of Iran would not trespass the limits of its own jurisdiction defined by international conventions for coastal waters; however, we emphasize on our full discretion, as the Leader of the Islamic Revolution has strongly asserted once, in holding military drills of air, ground, and sea nature, in our territories along with actions to meet the threat by any party,” he added.
“What is today claimed by the US and following that, Saudi Arabia and its circle of Arab regimes about Iran will bring them nothing; they have worked laboriously to deprive the region of its security, thus inviting the US military presence out of an instinct of self-defense and implicate Iran in the ensuing chaos in the region,” Dehghan criticized the conduct of regional countries. “The Islamic Republic of Iran has been a pivot of the stability and a bulwark of security and these countries have drastically gone astray in their unfounded imaginations; we see alien forces as a threat to the region and assume no limits to our military drills,” he added.
