Visiting Chairman of Iran's Strategic Council on Foreign Relations (SCFR) Kamal Kharrazi met with Iraqi Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari discussing regional issues.
The two sides at the meeting emphasized the need to strengthen bilateral ties between the two neighboring countries.
During the meeting, Iraq’s al-Jaafari and Iran’s Kharrazi conferred about the developments in the political and security situation on the region and the world as well as the efforts to reduce tension in the region.
The session also emphasized the need to boost bilateral relations as well as more negotiations for bringing security and stability to the region stressing protection of the countries’ interests and sovereignty and non-interference in the internal affairs of others.
Kamal Kharrazi had previously met with Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Al-Abadi on Monday dealing with the support of the neighboring country in the fight against terrorism.
