Iran’s Vienna participation seeks ‘a solution to Syria’

TEHRAN, Nov. 09 (MNA) – Iran’s deputy FM for Arab and African Affairs has told Russian Mikhail Bogdanov Iran’s participation in Vienna seeks ultimate solution to Syrian crisis.

Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and Mikhail Bogdanov, Putin’s special envoy to Middle East talked on Monday over the phone, discussing the latest developments in Syria. Bogdanov said that Iran and Russia had common positions on Syrian crisis and that Iran should participate in Vienna-II to help hit a political solution to the crisis in Syria.

“Only Syrian people are eligible to decide, in a democratic process, about their ultimate fate; and now Syrian army and people actively fight terrorism in the frontlines,” Amir-Abdollahian told the Russian official.

“Taking a realistic view of the situation in Syria by all parties engaged would help solve the crisis considerably; and the Islamic Republic of Iran will participate in Vienna talks to play a role in fashioning an ultimate solution,” he added.
