ISIL fight conditioned Iraqi state budget for 2016

BAGHDAD, Oct. 23 (MNA) – Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi, and the head of the National Iraqi Alliance, Ibrahim al-Jaafari, discussed on Thursday the state budget for 2016 with special attention to the fight against the ISIL.

During a meeting in Baghdad, the prime minister and the leader of the coalition of Shia parties discussed issues of security, economy and services, but warned that the nation’s expenditures in 2016 will be severely affected by the war against the terrorist group.

A statement from the National Alliance (AN) informed it praised the military successes of the army and the federal security forces, supported by the Popular Mobilization, which involves Shia volunteers, along with Sunni tribes and Kurdish Peshmerga fighters in several cities in Iraq.

To ensure the favorable development of the fight against terrorism, it is necessary to provide resources, including financial ones, to the troops fighting in the northwest regions of the country, especially in the provinces of Salaheddin and Al-Anbar, where the ISIL is stronger.

The meeting allowed the review of the budget for 2016, war spending and support for Iraq from the international coalition led by the United States in military, security, humanitarian and financial matters as well as in services and the need to strengthen national unity in every party.
