Assad part of political solution in Syria

TEHRAN, Sep. 23 (MNA) – Iran’s Deputy FM has stressed that Iran and Russia will get Syria out of the crisis deeming Bashar al-Assad as an essential part of any political solution for Syria’s future.

Attending a press conference in Moscow, capital of Russia, Amir-Abdollahian underlined that, “Iran in collaboration with Russia will put all its effort to resolve the crisis in Syria,” adding that “the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad will play a vital role in this process.”

Pointing to the important steps that Iran and Russia will take to resolve the crisis in Syria, he asserted that, “the two countries will take all necessary measures to bring Syria out of crisis.”

“We welcome the Russian president’s proposal on the formation of a joint committee to fight terrorism and we announce our readiness to implement this proposal,” said Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Amir-Abdollahian.

Amir-Abdollahian also warned Israel to stop its aggression on and desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque and to preserve the rights of Palestinian citizens. “Iran does not recognize this occupying regime and Israel is responsible for all the existing problems in the region.”

“Iran and Russia will condemn any effort to divide Jerusalem al-Quds," asserted him concluding that, “Israel's policies will lead to a rise in extremism and terrorism in the region.”
