Zarif, who is in China to confer with China’s high ranking officials on issues of mutual interests along with regional and global developments, met his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi on Tuesday.
During the meeting, Chinese foreign minister pointed to the positive outcomes of reaching a comprehensive nuclear agreement and said Iran has improved its international environment and now enjoys better foreign relation with the world.
Calling Zarif the most prolific and the busiest foreign minister in the world, Wang Yi acknowledged that Iranian FM's visit to Beijing highlighted the importance of the Islamic Republic's relations with China.
Wang Yi said discussing the implementation of JCPOA and examining strategies of strengthening all-out relations between Tehran and Beijing are among topics of talks with Iranian foreign minister.
Mohammad Javad Zarif, in turn, appreciated the hospitality of the government and people of China. "Given that we are on the eve of China's National Day, I congratulate the day to the people and the leader of China," Zarif said.
Elaborating more on the objectives of his visit to China, Zarif said his trip aimed at strengthening relations with China as a strategic partner of Iran.
Hailing China's constructive role in the process of nuclear negotiations, Zarif said Iranian nation and government will always remember China as a 'friend in need, which is a friend indeed'.
