Mohammad Javad Zarif, while pointing to Iran’s efforts to honor JCPOA, said it's now the time to verify US sincerity in lifting the sanctions on Tehran.
Speaking during an interview with China Central Television (CCTV) that was aired by the Chinese broadcaster on Thursday night, Zarif said the Vienna deal was a clear agreement and the US president has to be able to persuade the Congress and lift anti-Iran sanctions to accurately implement the deal.
Zarif noted that if the US acts otherwise, the world will come to the conclusion that Washington wants to impose its will on others.
Iranian Foreign Minister underlined China’s constructive role during nuclear talks, and called for the continuation of the cooperative role by the Asian country.
He reiterated that Iran expects holding a relationship based on strategic partnership with China.
“Iran and China have cooperative ties on regional, bilateral and global issues,” Zarif stressed.
CCTV had carried out the interview with the Iranian foreign minister during his one-day visit to China this week.
Zarif arrived at the Chinese capital at the head of a delegation on Monday night for talks with Chinese officials on bilateral and international issues.
