TEHRAN, Mar. 09 (MNA) – Iranian chess grandmaster Pouya Idani has won the 40th edition of the Cappelle-la-Grande Open held in France.

Iran’s Idani secured the title of the Cappelle-la-Grande Open in the rapid category.

He played 9 matches and gained 8 points to stand in the first place.

In the standard category, Idani stood in fifth place in the competition.

The Cappelle-la-Grande Open is a prestigious chess tournament that has been held annually in Cappelle-la-Grande, France since 1985.
