TEHRAN, Aug. 29 (MNA) – The Iranian Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi and his Iraqi counterpart Abdul Amir Al-Shammari in a meeting discussed deepening the bilateral relations between Tehran and Baghdad.

Ahmad Vahidi arrived at Baghdad International Airport on Tuesday morning and was welcomed by his Iraqi counterpart.

According to Al-Shammari's office, the two ministers conferred on bilateral relations between the two countries and the ways to deepen their ties.

Later on Tuesday, an MoU was signed between the two ministers on facilitating the commute of the foreign pilgrims who aim to cross Iran from Afghanistan and Pakistan to reach Iraq and participate in the Arbaeen ceremony.

On Monday night, Vahidi paid a visit to the Khosravi border crossing between Iran and Iraq and hailed the efforts of the Iraqi side for contributing to the facilitation of the Arbaeen pilgrims' commute.
