TEHRAN, Jul. 17 (MNA) – Saying that security is a common issue for all Persian Gulf states, the Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson advised the US government to avoid any provocative, non-constructive, and destabilizing actions in the region.

Nasser Kan'ani made the remarks on Monday in his weekly press conference in reaction to the US claims over deploying F-16 fighter jets to the Persian Gulf region, saying that the US government has never played a peaceful and constructive role regarding regional issues.

Iran monitors any illegal and non-constructive action that affects regional security with sensitivity and accuracy, the Iranian diplomat said, adding that the country is sensitive to any provocative and illegal action, especially near its borders, and will pay special attention to it.

Saying that security is a common issue for all Persian Gulf states, he advised the US government to avoid any provocative, non-constructive, and destabilizing actions in the region.

Iran's sovereignty over Persian Gulf islands not negotiable

In reaction to the recent Russia-PGCC joint statement over Iran's trio islands, he said that the issue of Iran's territorial integrity and sovereignty over the three islands of the Persian Gulf is not negotiable.

Iran considers the interference of any country, including the UAE, Russia, or any other party in this connection, as unacceptable and rejected, Kan'ani said.

Tehran will give a serious and appropriate reaction to any action that goes against the principle of respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries under international law, he said.

Iran not to neglect diplomatic opportunities to secure nation rights

Referring to the visit of Oman's Foreign Minister to Iran, he said, "The Foreign Minister of the friendly and neighboring state of Oman will come to Tehran today and will meet with the officials of our country."

"Oman is a country that plays a constructive role in some common international issues. The visit of Oman's foreign minister to Iran is an opportunity for a joint and constructive dialogue. After this trip, we will provide additional information to the media," he said.

"I cannot mention the details of today's negotiation with Oman's foreign minister," he also said, adding that Iran will not neglect diplomatic opportunities to secure the rights of the Iranian nation

Hosting MKO terrorists not justifiable

Regarding Italy's move in inviting the MKO anti-Iran terrorists, Kan'ani said that Iran has announced its serious position by summoning the ambassador of this country.

Hosting these terrorists cannot be justified in no way, he said, adding that it is a clear example of supporting terrorism, which is in conflict with the international responsibility of governments in fighting terrorism.

Regarding the appointing of Iran's ambassador to London, he said Iran's ambassador to the UK will be appointed soon.
