TEHRAN, Mar. 01 (MNA) – Iran’s police have confiscated 30,000 liters of smuggled fuel in Ahvaz.

The Police chief of Ahvaz, Seyyed Mohammad Salehi said that 30,000 liters of fuel has been seized from a heavy-duty truck in the city.

One defendant has been detained in this regard, he added.

Subsidized fuel in Iran is seen as an opportunity for smugglers to draw huge benefits. Iran, however, re-imposed using fuel cards and rationed gasoline back in November 2019 which was aimed in part to take the smuggling under control.
