Two assailants detonated their explosive vests inside a market in Baghdad’s Tayaran Square on Thursday, killing the 28 people and wounding 73 others, Iraq's al-Sumeria television reported, citing police and medical officials.
Police said the casualties could rise due to the magnitude of the blasts.
Iraqi security forces are investigating the attacks.
