TEHRAN, Aug. 06 (MNA) – Iranian volleyball team Khatam Ardakan defeated their Kazakh rival in the final on Monday and claimed the title of 2018 Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship.

The Iranian team gained a 3-0 victory (29-27, 25-23, 25-22) over Kazakhstan’s Atyrau VC to santch the 10th throne for Iran during past 17 editions of the event.

Khatam Ardakan was in Pool A of the competition along with Japan’s Toray Arrows, and Kazakhstan’s Atyrau VC. The Iranian team managed to win both mentioned teams and advance to the quarterfinals. The team, then routed Thailand’s Nakhonratchasima in the quarterfinal and Vietnam’s Sanest Khanh Hoa in the semifinal of the event.

In the third place play-off, Pakistan's represantative defeated the Vietnamese club 3-2 (19-25, 25-21, 16-25, 25-20, 18-16) and grabbed the bronze medal.

13 team had participated in 2018 Asian Men’s Club Volleyball Championship which kicked off on July 31 in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar and ended today.
