“While the enemies are waging an economic war on the Islamic Republic of Iran, the government is expected to line up for an economic war,” said the Commander of Iran's Basij Resistance Force Gholamhossein Gheybparvar on Wednesday.
The Iranian commander made the remarks addressing the officials of Basij divisions for the social classes and the ministries, touching upon the latest disruptions in Iranian gold and currency markets.
“Executive officials of the country must believe that now the enemies have kicked off an economic war and the public expects the government to be ready for this war,” he underlined.
“As we asked the judiciary officials, in a brotherly manner, to decisively confront economic disruptors and corrupts we ask the officials in government, again in a brotherly manner, to undertake a revolutionary approach in facing the economic issues of the country to prevent living issues of the country’s economy to affect the daily lives of the people,” he said.
“Back in 1980s, when the people saw that the officials were next to them, they could put up with the problems and now the officials should follow the same model to solve the problems of the nation,” Gheybparvar said referring to economic pressures which have been posed against Iran since the victory of the Islamic Revolution.
He also lashed out at watchdog organizations for not monitoring thoroughly the markets where a few people disrupt the order of economy and create economic problems for people.
He repeated again that Basij is ready to help government in encountering economic problems.
