TEHRAN, Jun. 17 (MNA) – Iranian short ‘Forouzan’ directed by Mirabbas Khosravinejad has won the Best Narrative Short award at the 1st Astoria NY Film Festival in New York, US.

‘Forouzan’ narrates the story of a young woman whose husband has recently passed away. She lives with her two young children in a village, and protects a herd of sheep against the attack of thieves at night.

The Iranian short has recently managed to receive an Honorable Mention for Best Narrative Short at the 2018 June edition of the American film festival.

The first edition of Astoria Film Festival was held on June 8-9, in New York, the United States.

‘Forouzan’ will next take part in the 5th Los Angeles Diversity Film Festival from 26-28 July, and the 4th Alexandria Short Film Festival in Greece from 29 June to 1 July.
