Addressing 9th Farabi International Award on the Humanities and Islamic Studies on Sunday, Hassan Rouhani said described development possible through progress in the humanities and Islamic sciences, adding "science leads us to development if it considers Islamic sciences and humanities as its role model."
He emphasized “Iran’s Leader has forbidden the production and use of weapons of mass destruction,” adding that religion and ethics should be put above knowledge.
"Development is not possible without progress in the humanities and Islamic sciences," said Rouhani, adding "proper governance leads the society in the right direction."
He went on to express his happiness over the fact that the White House was unsuccessful in breaching the international obligations, violating the UN Security Council resolutions, and the agreement signed by seven countries (the nuclear deal with Iran),” describing the US failures as “a victory for humanity, morality and law.”
"A clear example of this is the nuclear industry, which can be used in the interest of society in many sciences and techniques, but incorrect and false use of it can destroy society and humanity," he said.
The president criticized those who do not appreciate ‘Iran's successes in JCPOA,’ adding “the JCPOA will never be dismantled even if one side pulls out of it.”
