TEHRAN, Jan. 08 (MNA) – Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi, arguing that the recent Security Council meeting could be a lesson to US President Trump, stressed "his attitude and behavior are not much credible."

Speaking during his weekly press conference on Monday, Ghasemi touched upon the way the Islamic Republic of Iran is going to use the recent US defeat in the United Nations Security Council meeting; "what has happened to the US foreign policy during the past year and also at the recent Security Council meeting is another spanking disgrace to its previous failures."

The international community, he noted, and members of the Security Council have domenstrated that the new era does not follow Trump's instructions, and that his attempt to bring the domestic affairs of a country to the Security Council is contrary to international standards, which will certainly face a big no.

Elsewhere in his remarks about the due date of Trump's decision over JCPOA on January 12, Ghasemi said "we have to wait for their decision; as the stance of the Islamic Republic of Iran, we have provided the necessary predictiona about any scenario that can be formed, and all of our options for different situations are on the table according to the decisions made by the United States ."

Due to the international nature of JCPOA, he added, the United States must fulfill its obligations under the treaty, otherwise, it will certainly suffer huge losses, so if they make computational mistakes in this regard, they would definitely regret it.

Responding to a question on Foreign Minister Zarif's visit to Germany regarding to foreign media's reports linking it to recent events in Iran, he said "what has been said in foreign media, especially those related to the Zionist regime, over Mr. Zarif's trip to Germany is definitely false aiming to deliberately fish in troubled waters; we have constructive relations with the EU, contacting with therm on the regular basis."

EU Foreign Affairs Chief Federica Mogherini has invited Mr. Zarif and his 3 counterparts in Germany, Britain and France to discuss JCPOA, he noted.

Touching upon the Iranian-owned oil tanker that collided with a Hong Kong freighter in the East China Sea on Saturday, Ghasemi said "due to the oil spill and the spread of flames up to more than a kilometer, the tanker is still burning and the fire has not been extinguished despite the fact that all the fire fighting forces and equipment and rescue teams have been marshaled."

He added that unfortunately the tanker’s 32 crew members are missing, 30 of whom were Iranian sailors.

On the postponing of the visit of French President Emanuel Macron to Iran, he said "Iran's relations with France are at high levels, with many phone calls between presidents of the two countries, ministers of foreign affairs and other senior officials of the two countries, and the two sides are determined to improve bilateral ties."

Pointing to the failed US plot to relocate Zionist capital to al-Quds, Ghasemi said "Iran's policy has not changed on Quds, and as long as there is occupation, there is support and we will support the Resistance groups."

Ghasemi also touched upon the issue of Negar Ghodskani, Iranian woman who has been arrested on violation of US trade laws upon an extradition request from Washington, saying "Ms. Ghodskani's situation is one of the important issues we are pursuing, as she is under certain conditions in Australian prisons where she has given birth to her son. We continuously ask the Australian government to decide as quickly as possible to resolve the case and take the necessary steps to release her; the US government has been campaigning against some Iranians in different countries, which we hope will abandon these measures.
