TEHRAN, Dec. 13 (MNA) – Two Iranian judo practitioners are slated to take part at IJF Masters event to be held in St. Petersburg, Russia.

Some of the top athletes will go to Russia to defend their world ranking position and to gain a good starting position for 2018 when the Olympic Qualification will start. 1800 points are for grab in St. Petersburg for the winner, enough to shake up the current world ranking.

As the last IJF World Tour event to go this year, the IJF Masters in St. Petersburg will be competed in the Russian city of St. Petersburg from December 16-17.

The sixteen top athletes in every weight category meet annually in the reputable sportive event. Iran, for the first time ever in the history of the tournament, will have two representatives at IJF Masters event.

As such, Mohammad Mehdi Barimanlu (-73kg) and Saeid Molaei (-81kg) from Iran will meet rivals at the upcoming two-day which offers 50,000 bonus dollars for the leader of 2017.
