Hours after Sunday night earthquake in western Iran, eastern Iraq, and southern Turkey, which pounded its heavier casualties in Iranian northwestern provinces, officials from around the world sent message of condolences, offering help and sympathies to the victims.
Erdoğan, holding a press conference at Istanbul Atatürk Airport on Monday before his flight to Russia, touched upon the Sunday earthquake in Iran and Iraq.
Regarding the 7.3 magnitude earthquake that hit northern Iraq and the west of Iran on late Sunday, President Erdoğan offered his condolences to the victims. He pointed out that Turkey dispatched its relevant aid agencies right after the quake.
“I wish a speedy recovery to the people of Iraq and Iran after an earthquake that happened in northern Iraq yesterday night, [and] I offer my condolences,” said Erdogan ahead of his departure to the Russian city of Sochi where he is to hold talks with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

Iranian First Vice-President Eshagh Jahangiri said on Monday that President Rouhani will soon travel to the quake-hit areas.
