TEHRAN, Sep. 20 (MNA) – Iranian freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestlers will leave Tehran for the Turkmen capital in order to attend the fifth Asian Indoor and Martial Art Games.

The fifth Asian Indoor and Martial Art Games is underway in Ashgabat of Turkmenistan where a great number of guests from 62 countries, including 45 Asian and 17 Pacific countries, are being received.

National Iranian wrestling squads are slated to leave for Ashgabat on Friday in order to compete in various weight categories.

Iran’s hopes in freestyle division are pinned on Nader Hajaghania (57kg), Iman Sadeghi (61kg), Farzad Amouzadeh (65kg), Saeid Dadashpour (70kg), Hossein Elyasi (74kg), Ezatollah Akbari (86kg), Mojtaba Galich (97kg) as well as Yadollah Mohebbi (125kg).

Meanwhile, Mohsen Hajipour (59kg), Amin Souri (66kg), Farshad Belfakeh (71kg), Pejman Pashtam (75kg), Mehdi Ebrahimi (80kg), Saman Azizi (85kg), Seyed Amirhossein Hosseini (98kg) as well as Behnam Mehdizadeh (130kg) will represent Iran in the Greco-Roman category.

The Iranian sports delegation has so far exhibited awe-inspiring displays of athletic talents at the 5th edition of Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games, and been awarded 26 medals in the multinational and multi-sport event.

The 2017 Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games, which is also counted as the 5th Asian Indoor Games is being held in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan from September 16-27.
