“Following a set of adventurist policies in the past years, unfortunately Abu-Dhabi has created a lot of problems in the region, and now is the time to end such destructive policies,” said Bahram Ghasemi, the Spokesman of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday. He made the remark in reaction to the latest remarks of Emirati FM, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al-Nahyan accused Iran and Turkey of playing colonialist roles in the region. He made the remarks at a press conference with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.
Ghasemi described al-Nahyan’s words as inappropriate, unconstructive, and hallucinatory. The Iranian diplomat regretted that UAE’s adventurism has been beyond the capacities of this country, leading to troubles alike ‘war and brute bloodshed in Yemen’, ‘efforts to occupy some part of ‘Yemen’, ‘interference in Libya’, and ‘provoking some countries of region to lay siege and embargo on some other countries of the region’.
He named these policies and measures of the UAE as destructive, inefficient, and friction causing and called the Emiratis to put an end to that kind of policies.
