TEHRAN, Aug. 09 (MNA) – Iran’s national seniors handball team will leave for South Korea today to take part in the international friendly tournament dubbed ‘Seoul Cup’.

The event is scheduled to convene from August 7 to 15, the South Korean capital of Seoul.

Iranian handball players will compete at the international tournament as a warm-up for Asian Men’s Handball Championship 2018 which will be the continental battle for World Championship qualification.

National Iranian players will take on South Korea and Tunisia on August 14 and 14.

A total of 16 players have been invoked to participate in the sportive event including Mojtaba Heidarpour, Amin Kazemi, Saeid Pourghasemi, Rahim Momenizadeh, Mahdi Mousavi, Mehrdad Samsami, Ehsan Abouei, Jalal Kiani, Omid Sekenari, Milad Masaeilof, Mohammad Ali Ghasemi, Mahdi Bijari, Salma Barbat, Mohammad Siavoshi, Ali Rahimi as well as Farhad Shafiei.

Handball squad of Iran will be led by Alireza Habibi as the head coach as well as Shahdad Mortaji as coach of goalkeepers.
