Iran’s epee squad is slated to face rivals today in Leipzig of Germany which is playing host to the 2017 World Fencing Championships which will run through July 26.

Following the individual and team event finals on Monday, the latest ranking was released by the Fédération Internationale d'Escrime (FIE) and, thanks to the hard-fought victory over Romanians, Iran’s men’s sabre team jumped one spot moving up to the fourth position.
The sabre is one of the three weapons of modern fencing and it differs from the other modern fencing weapons, the epee and foil, in that it is possible to score with the edge of the blade; for this reason, sabreur movements and attacks are very fast.
