“Dezful proved resistance in action and the people of the city attested that the various weapons of destruction and death are ineffective against the will of people,” said Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehghan on Thursday while addressing a ceremony in Iranian southern city of Dezful. Iranians commemorate the resistance of Dezful which suffered the highest number of Saddam’s missiles during the eight year war of his regime against Iran every year on May 25.
The Iranian minister hailed the will and determination of the people of Dezful for persistent resistance against missiles torrents, dispatching their own youth to the fronts, and welcoming the warriors from other Iranian cities.
“Persian Gulf states along with the world powers mobilized all their organizations against a nation who had decided to be self-reliant, but under the leadership of Imam Khoemini, our people managed to get through the eight-year-long war victoriously,” highlighted the Iranian general referring to the alliance of the Eastern and Western blocs against Iran in the first years of the Islamic establishment in Iran.
General Hossein Dehghan advised the rulers of the Persian Gulf monarchies to accept their people and to spend their wealth for their own nation and warned the rich monarchs of the Persian Gulf that the powerful countries will support the kings till the time their interests are secured.
“They cannot tolerate the voice of a cleric in Bahrain who is backing the rights of Bahrainis and at the same time welcome their great master with oil dollars,” Mr. Dehghan denounced Bahrain’s regime crack down on people and clerics referring to Trumps visit to the Middle East.
“It would not be so long to see the same destiny of Saddam fall upon the ancient rulers of the region and our nation will witness that day,” reassured the General.
He criticized the international entities and western countries who claim to be supportive of human rights for turning blind eyes to the horrendous crimes of Saudi Arabia against the civilians in Yemen.
