Maximum turnout biggest deterrence against threats

TEHRAN, May 16 (MNA) – Defense Minister Hossein Dehghan said the biggest deterrent power against threats posed by Arrogance would be massive participation in elections.

Speaking to staff of the Ministry of Defense, Brigadier General Hossein Dehghan stressed the need for maximum turnout at May 19 presidential elections saying “participation of the people at the polls will guarantee survival of the Islamic Revolution and lead to progress, dignity and pride of the country.”

Referring to the critical and complex regional conditions and hazardous conspiracies hatched by US, Israeli and Saudi regimes to continue crisis, war and bloodshed in the region within the Arabic NATO design, the official said demonstrating alliance, solidarity and national power at the upcoming elections, we will be able to foil these evil plots.

Brig. Gen. Dehghan, while calling for holding elections in an environment filled with vitality, order and safety, urged all people and political parties to conduct elections in compliance with law and with respect to various tastes and views.

Iran’s defense minister said the epic election on May 19 will mark a strong support for the Armed Forces in defensing sanctity of religion and homeland.

“On the day following the election and once the President-elect is determined, we all need to work together with solidarity and make efforts hand in hand towards the goals envisioned in Iran’s 1404 (2025) Vision," he said.

Dehghan said he was confident that the great Iranian nation will make a larger and more magnificent epic by their massive turnout to disappoint enemies and ill-wishers of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
