TEHRAN, Apr. 04 (MNA) – Parliamentarian delegations of Iran and Iraq met in Dhaka on the sidelines of the 136th Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) assembly.

“Iran’s role in the region and in supporting Iraq against terrorism is honorable,” said Iraqi MP Humam Hamoudi in his meeting with Iranian delegation of MPs attending the 136th Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) assembly, according to the communiqué released by Hamoudi’s office on Tuesday.

The Iranian delegation of MPs headed by MP Gholamali Jafarzadeh Imanabadi met with the Iraqi delegation of MPs headed by Humam Hamoudi in Bangladeshi capital city of Dhaka where the 136th Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) assembly started on Saturday and is still underway.

“The Zionist regime of Israel is main source of the crises in the region and as soon as one crisis is ended in the region, this regime flares the fire of another crisis,” stressed the Iraqi renowned politician. He warned the governments of the region to be watchful of ‘this regime’ and its plots against the countries of the region.

The Iraqi figure hails the role of Iran, according to the communiqué, in strengthening democratic procedures in Iraq, providing military and political support, and reconstructing holy places.

Meanwhile he demanded Iran’s support and more active role in reconstructing war-torn areas, helping refugees retune to their homes, and activating factories, production lines, and industrial plants.
