TEHRAN, Mar. 27 (MNA) – President Hassan Rouhani has arrived in Moscow on a two-day visit made by official of President Putin.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani was officially received in Vnukovo International Airport where national anthems of two countries were performed and military parade was held before President Rouhani.

During the first day of the visit Rouhani will meet with Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, during which the current state and the prospects of bilateral cooperation in various spheres, including energy, will be discussed. According to the Russian government’s press service, Medvedev is also expected to discuss the establishment of the free trade zone between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and Iran.

The meeting between Rouhani and Russia’s President Vladimir Putin is scheduled for Tuesday. During the negotiations, the two leaders are set to discuss a wide range of matters related to Russian-Iranian cooperation, including projects in the energy sphere. The talks are expected to conclude with the signing of several bilateral agreements.

Previous talks on the creation of the free trade zone between EAEU countries - Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan - and Iran were held between Moscow and Tehran in February. After the negotiations, members of the EAEU prime ministerial council signed a directive ordering preparations for a temporary agreement on the establishment of the EAEU-Iran free trade zone.
