TEHRAN, Jan. 18 (MNA) – AEOI spokesman Kamalvandi and Rosatom CEO Likhachev discussed venues for bilateral cooperation in nuclear fields, construction of new plants as well as the JCPOA.

Spokesman of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Behrouz Kamalvandi, who is leading a delegation to Moscow, met and talked with Alexey Likhachev, Chief Executive Officer of Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation.

The meeting, which was also attended by Iran’s Ambassador to Moscow Mehdi Sanaei, investigated issues related to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), construction status of two new power plants in Bushehr as well as collaborations between the two countries in Fordow Fuel Enrichment Plant (FFEP).

Both sides presented a report on the status quo in mutual ties between the two countries in the field of peaceful nuclear activities within JCPOA and international frameworks. They also exchanged views on ways to bolster relations.

Rosatom CEO Alexey Likhachev, while pointing to successful cooperation between Iran and Russia in nuclear arenas especially inauguration and completion of the first nuclear power house in the southern Iranian city of Bushehr, emphasized that strategic ties between the two sides were satisfactory.

Iran’s Kamalvandi, for his part, congratulated Likhachev on his appointment as the Chief Executive Officer of Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation and deemed Tehran-Moscow ties in peaceful nuclear activities and the JCPOA as a clear instance of strategic relations between the two countries.

Kamalvandi, on behalf of AEOI Ali Akbar Salehi, invited Likhachev to make a visit to Iran.
