TEHRAN, Jan. 12 (MNA) – Spokesperson of the AEOI has said in Vienna JCPOA Joint Commission, the US officials pledged ISA will never translate to real effects on Iranian economy.

Mr. Behrouz Kamalvandi told reporters on Thursday that the Iranian negotiators raised the concerns over the Iran Sanctions Act widely believed in Tehran and elsewhere as flagrant and open violation of the JCPOA; to these concerns also voiced by other JCPOA parties, “the US officials pledged that ISA would not have practical consequences in terms of hitting Iran’s economy and the incipient modest economic openings post-JCPOA,” he said. “This is a direct line of policy in Tehran that sees ISA as violation of the deal; however, we received assurances that no real impacts would come from the ISA extension in the US Congress.”

“Vienna talks were unanimous that ISA extension was an example of violation of the international deal, and its implementation, if had any impacts on Iran’s economy, would precipitate different course of action by Iran with some consequences to the deal itself,” Kamalvandi briefly said.
