Iranian Minister of Health and Medical Education Seyed Hassan Qazizadeh Hashemi who is, heading a high ranking delegation, visiting Russia met with Veronika Skvortsova, Minister of Healthcare of the Russian Federation on Wednesday and the two sides signed twelve documents in areas of bilateral cooperation in health and treatment, medical facilities and technology, exchange and share of knowledge and experiences by both sides.
He also visited a care center for stroke patients and a Russian institute of vaccine production in Saint Petersburg.
“I hope that Iranian and Russian partners run a good mutual cooperation and win a good share of the market in Eurasian countries,” voiced hope the Iranian minister, “biotechnology, vaccine and medicine production, and marketing issues were the main objectives of my visit to Russia.”
The minister recounted that the production line of the medication patented by Iranians known as Fingolimod, an immunomodulating drug, mostly used for treating multiple sclerosis (MS) also opened in Saint Petersburg to pave the way for more pharmaceutical cooperation between the two countries.
He also voiced hope for further bilateral cooperation of Iran and Russia in fields of medical equipment, laser treatment, and a host of other advanced medical technologies in near future.
On the sideline of his meeting with Veronika Skvortsova, Minister of Healthcare of the Russian Federation during which the private sectors of the two countries signed many agreements, Hashemi told the media that the documents and agreements signed would enhance bilateral relations in areas of science, trade and research.
Later on Friday he attended an event where Iranian and Russian companies and institutes signed 15 agreements on areas of pharmaceutical research and production.
