Bahram Ghasemi told reporters on Saturday Foreign Minister Zarif had been welcomed lavishly by Turkish officials upon arriving in Ankara; “we believe the visit will prove constructive for both nations under current circumstances,” he added.
“Mr. Zarif discussed with his Turkish counterpart bilateral, regional, and international developments; among the discussed topics was lifting a ban on travel tours to Turkish destinations, which had been requested by Turkish side; from now on, travel agencies would organize tours to Turkey in partnership with Turkish tour organizers; Turkish people see Iranians as one of the best tourists and pledged improved accommodations,” Ghasemi told the press.
“Iranian side accepted lifting the ban, provided that Turkish side removes cumbersome conditions on Iranian visitors; however, this lifting would not rule out the responsibilities of Iranian tour organizers and travel agencies should remain to their commitments in providing best conditions for their tourists in Turkey,” he added.
