BAKU, Aug. 07 (MNA) – Ilham Aliyev has said Republic of Azerbaijan and Iran will extend north-south corridor railroad in the trilateral meeting in Baku.

President Ilham Aliyev and President Hassan Rouhani sat in a brief joint press conference after a meeting in Baku on Sunday where they announced agreement which will allow citizens of both countries to visit Iran and Republic of Azerbaijan without a visa.

Aliyev told the press that some MoUs would be signed in the subsequent meetings; “Iran and Azerbaijan are now in a propitious point in time in developing mutual ties; we believe trilateral meeting in Baku will be to the interests of all in the region,” he added.

“The talks focus on developing north-south corridor of the railroad; we have taken great steps in improving cooperation,” Aliyev told the press, ensuring that the trilateral meeting would definitely address the border clashes with Armenia.

Aliyev closed his remarks with lavishing gratitude for Iranian nation at large and communicated his fellow feelings to the southern neighbor.
