Founded in 2009 CPIFF is an annual festival held in South East London. It presents a rich and diverse program of Independent film from all over the world, including world, European, UK and regional premieres. CPIFF’s mission is to discover, support, and exhibit pioneering work by global and local independent filmmakers and to introduce viewers to alternative cinematic experiences, its website says.
Run by a core group, the festival has established itself as a major event for the local and surrounding area and beyond. Committed to screening the work of Independent directors from all over the world, CPIFF showcases films from 9 categories in unique surroundings with culinary experiences and themed evenings.
The festival’s Animation Night will be held on Thursday 7 November and the Iranian animation Junk Girl, by Mohammad Zare, which is a nominee for the festival’s Best Animation, will compete with 17 other works.
The animation narrates the story of a girl who is made of junk and is dirty and smelly.
It is an adaptation of the namesake poem from Tim Burton's The Melancholy Death of Oyster Boy, and Other Stories book.
