The event aims at advancing diversity in Chicagoland through cinema, conversation and culture.
The Festival gives South Asian talent, stories and themes a world platform and is committed to providing an experience in cinema for filmmakers and moviegoers alike with the warmth and personal touch that is unique to Chicago.
This year, the event hosts one film from Iranian Cinema, The Oblivion Season.
The film has already bagged several awards at international festivals including the third Annual Rahway International Film Festival in New Jersey, and Hudson Festival in New York as well as the 39th Montreal World Film Festival.
A few days ago, the film nabbed the Best Film Award while its actress Sareh Bayat bagged the Best Actress Award at the Universal Film Festival in US.
It narrates the story of an Iranian woman who starts a new life by marrying her loved one, but her dark past will not stop chasing her and she faces trouble even though she is supported by her husband.
