Aug. 23 marks National Doctors’ Day in Iran
TEHRAN, Aug. 23 (MNA) – The 1st of Shahrivar (Aug. 23) coincides with the birthday of distinguished Iranian physician named Abu-Ali Sina (known as Avicenna). Iran commemorates National Doctor's Day on August 23, on Avicenna's birthday. The distinguished Persian physician, writer of 'The Book of Healing', is regarded as the father of early modern medicine.
