Veterinary services, crucial but less appreciated
TEHRAN, Oct. 06 (MNA) – Iran marks the National Veterinary Day on October 6. Despite the high contribution of veterinary services to the health of both animals and humans, measures done to appreciate the services are not sufficient and the sector needs more serious attention, Payam Mohebbi, head of Tehran Pet Hospital told the Tehran Times on Friday.

$2.6bn worth of livestock raw materials imported in 10 months
TEHRAN, Feb. 27 (MNA) – Statistics of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) showed that $2.590 billion worth of livestock raw materials was imported into the country in 10 months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21 – Jan. 21).

Livestock raw materials import to Imam Khomeini port surges 20%
TEHRAN, Feb. 19 (MNA) – Iraj Modiri, the deputy head of Khuzestan Ports and Maritime Organization, said on Tue. that imports of livestock inputs to the port has increased 20 percent since the current Iranian calendar year up to the present time (Feb. 19).

Iran imports 6mn tons of livestock corn in 9 months
TEHRAN, Jan. 06 (MNA) – Statistics of the Islamic Republic of Iran customs Administration (IRICA) revealed that more than 6,341,000 tons of livestock corn, valued at over $1.476 billion, were imported into the country in the nine months of the current Iranian calendar year in 1397 (March 21 – Dec. 21).

VIDEO: Two-headed lamb born in Iran
POL-E DOKHTAR, Dec. 01 (MNA) – A sheep in rural areas of Pol-e Dokhtar in Lorestan province has given birth to a live two-headed lamb. The 60-year-old farmer said that he has not seen anything similar in his life. There is no other information available about the current condition of the animal.

Export from Noshahr Port up 68%
TEHRAN, Jan. 04 (MNA) – The Director General of Mazandaran province Ports and Maritime Organization Mohammad-Taghi Anzanpour said that goods export from Noshahr Port experienced a considerable 68 percent hike in the nine months of the current Iranian calendar year in 1396 (from March 21 to Dec. 22) as compared to the last year’s corresponding period.
