TEHRAN, Apr. 16 (MNA) – The volume of the water at Lake Urmia in the West Azarbaijan province, has reached 1.5 billion cubic meters, and despite efforts the lake has been experiencing a decline in its water.

Located in northwest Iran, Lake Urmia is the largest lake in West Asia and the sixth-largest Salt Lake in the world with a water surface area of 5,000 to 6,000 square kilometers.
