Brunei FM condoles martyrdom of Ayatollah Khamenei

TEHRAN, Mar. 18 (MNA) – The foreign minister of Brunei Darussalam has expressed his condolences over the martyrdom of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in the US-Israeli aggression.

Speaking in a telephone conversation with his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi late on Tuesday, Dato Erywan Pehin Yusof condoled the martyrdom of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, senior military commanders and civilians following the US-Israel aggression against the country. 

Iran’s top diplomat, expounded on the heinous crimes committed by US and Israel, including the cowardly assassination of Leader of the Islamic Revolution and massacre of a great number of Iranian civilians as well as targeting of public infrastructures such as schools, hospitals, etc. 

Araghchi called on all governments and the United Nations to condemn the US-Israeli aggression against Iran which is a gross violation of the international law and the UN Charter.

He then pointed to the inherent right of Iran to defend itself, emphasizing that Islamic Republic of Iran had previously warned all concerned parties in the region that it will target US bases stationed in the regional countries if its was attacked and these bases would be the legitimate targets of Iran’s defensive operations. 

The foreign minister of Brunei, for his part, condemned the US-Israeli attack on Iran and emphasized the necessity of respecting the fundamental principles of the international law.
Yusof also stressed the need to prevent further expansion of conflict and escalation in the region.
