Pezeshkian, Sultan of Oman discuss recent war developments

TEHRAN, Mar. 12 (MNA) –Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq Al Said held a telephone conversation late on Wednesday to discuss the latest developments in the region following the US-Israeli aggression against Iran.

President Pezeshkian reaffirmed Iran’s deep respect for all regional countries and stability in the West Asia region, warning that any attack launched from US military bases deployed in the region against Iran would be ‘unacceptable’ under any circumstances.

During the phone call, Pezeshkian thanked the Sultanate of Oman for its constructive and positive role in the regional consultations, especially its efforts to reduce tensions.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Pezeshkian recalled the process of the recent war developments, highlighting that US and Israeli regime attacked Iran at the condition that nuclear talks were ongoing between Iran and the US.

The US and Israeli aggression against Iran led to the martyrdom of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, senior military commanders, civilians and also more than 170 innocent schoolchildren in an elementary school in Minab, southern province of Hormozgan.

The aggression once again proved that the terrorist US government and child-killing Israeli regime do not abide by any of the international law and principles.

According to the Iranian president, the escalation resulted in significant human and infrastructure losses.

Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran attaches great importance to its relations with the neighboring countries and prioritizes expanding cooperation across the region.

Any attacks launched from US military bases, deployed in the regional states, against Iran would not be tolerated, Pezeshkian emphasized.

Turning to the reports raised about a strike on Oman’s Port of Salalah, the president said the Islamic Republic of Iran remains committed to strengthening relations with its neighbors, particularly Oman, and Iran’s military responses target only centers directly involved in attacks against Iran.

The Sultan of Oman, for his part, emphasized the positive stance of his country towards Iran, stressing the importance of regional cooperation to preserve stability and prevent further escalation.

Haitham bin Tariq Al Said pointed to the efforts of the Israeli regime to sow seeds of discord and division among the Islamic countries, stressing the necessity of strengthening the regional cooperation to spread stability, peace and security in the region.
