Israel to surely be punished for attacking Iran's consulate

TEHRAN, Apr. 03 (MNA) – Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi said that the Israeli regime and its supporters will surely be punished for attacking Iran's consulate building in Damascus and the crimes that they've committed in the Gaza Strip.

Raeisi made the remarks in a telephone conversation with his Syrian counterpart Bashar al-Assad on Tuesday night.

The Israeli regime attacked Iran's consulate in the Syrian capital of Damascus on Monday evening. The Israeli aggression led to the destruction of the entire building and the martyrdom and injury of the entire people inside it.

Seven of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) military advisors were martyred following the Israeli attack on Iran's consulate in Damascus on Monday, IRGC said in a statement.

During the phone conversation, the Syrian president expressed condolences over the martyrdom of Iranian military advisors during the Israeli attack.

Israel's unprecedented crime in attacking Iran's consulate is not only a violation of international laws but also shows the extent of insolence and moral degradation of this regime, Assad said.

He also emphasized the need to support the Axis of Resistance and punish the regime of Tel Aviv.

For his part, Raeisi thanked his Syrian counterpart for offering condolences and Sympathy, saying that Israel showed how desperate it was by carrying out this terrorist attack against Iran's diplomatic site.

Undoubtedly, this regime and its supporters will be punished for their shameful act, he stressed.

Emphasizing the need for enhancing the cooperation between Tehran and Damascus at the regional and international levels with the aim of confronting the Israeli regime's crimes, the Iranian president said that unfortunately, the passivity of some Arab countries has prevented the Islamic world from adopting a united position against the Zionist regime and has caused this regime to become more brazen in committing crimes.
