Police seizes over 1.6 tons of narcotics in SE Iran

TEHRAN, Feb. 26 (MNA) – A police source in Iran's Sistan and Baluchestan Province has announced that over 1.6 tons of illicit drugs were seized during the past two days.

During the anti-narcotics operation, the police forces seized 1.635 kilograms of opium in Saravan and Khash, according to General Doostali Jalilian.

Iran is at the forefront of the fight against drug trafficking and thousands of Iranian forces have been so far martyred to protect the world from the danger of drugs.

Despite high economic and human costs, the Islamic Republic has been actively fighting drug trafficking over the past decades.
