Prisoner exchange deal between Israel, Hamas imminent

TEHRAN, Nov. 20 (MNA) – Qatar said Sunday that a prisoner exchange deal between the Israeli regime and the Palestinian group Hamas is “imminent.”

Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed Bin Abdulrahman al-Thani made the statement during a joint press conference with European foreign policy chief Josep Borrell in the capital Doha, Qatar News Agency reported.

Al-Thani pointed out that there are “minor challenges within the negotiations (that are) logistical and operational rather than substantive, and they can be overcome.”

He emphasized the “necessity of stopping the war and opening humanitarian corridors for the entry of aid.”

The Israeli regime waged the brutal war on the blockaded Gaza Strip on October 7 after the Palestinian Resistance movement Hamas launched Operation Al-Aqsa Storm against the occupying entity.

Since the start of the aggression, the Tel Aviv regime has killed at least 12,500 Palestinians, including more than 5,000 children and 3,300 women, and injured 30,000 others.

It has also imposed a “complete siege” on the coastal sliver, cutting off fuel, electricity, food, and water to the more than two million Palestinians living there.
