Australia issues new sanctions on Iran

TEHRAN, Mar. 20 (MNA) – Australia has issued a slew of new sanctions against Tehran under the pretext of human rights violations in Iran.

The move comes after Australia sanctioned senior Iranian military and government officials last month.

Alleging human rights violations in Iran and Tehran's military support for Russia in the Ukraine war, the Australian government on Monday said it was imposing Magnitsky-style targeted financial sanctions and travel bans on a further 14 individuals, as well as financial sanctions on 14 Iranian entities.
