According to the Public Relations Department of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Ali Asghar Khaji is a senior and experienced diplomat who has previously held posts in the Foreign Ministry as the Deputy Foreign Minister for Europe and America Affairs as well as the Director General for Persian Gulf.
He has also represented Iran as the ambassador in Saudi Arabia, Belgium and China.
