“Irrespective of paying attention to the US pressures, Beijing has still maintained its amicable ties with Tehran especially in the field of backing Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).”
International sanctions have already been imposed on Iran but now, the US has pulled itself out of JCPOA unilaterally while other countries are committed to maintain its relations with Iran, the issue of which is a great concession for the Islamic Republic of Iran, Wang emphasized.
As long as European countries and Russia support JCPOA, US cannot exert pressure to China on developing its relationship with the Islamic Republic of Iran, he observed.
According to him, China has observed all international rules and regulations in its relation with Iran completely but does not accept US unilateral sanctions as an international rule, for, China is an independent country and US cannot exert pressure on Iran in this regard.
He pointed to the compliance of European companies with Iran in the field of activity of European firms in Tehran and said, “many Chinese companies including road and subway construction companies have not left Iran after US pulled itself out of JCPOA, rather, they have expanded its relationship with Tehran significantly.”
He said, “Islamic Republic of Iran has repeatedly emphasized that Iran has lived up to its commitments within the framework of rules and regulations.”
