Iran crowned at 4th Asian Para Taekwondo Open C’ships

TEHRAN, May 25 (MNA) – Iranian para taekwondo team has won the title at Asian championships in Vietnam with 9 medals.

The Iranian para taekwondo practitioners collected 6 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals to win the title at the 4th Asian Para Taekwondo Open Championships.

Uzbekistan came second after Iran, while Mongolia stood on the third place.

For Iran, Mehdi Pourrahnama, Hamed Haghshenas, Saeed Sadeghianpour, Ahmad Narimani, Mehdi Bahrami Azar and Mahtab Nabavi grabbed six gold medals, and Asghar Azizi won a silver medal.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Reza Shabani and Mahtab Nabavi brought home two bronzes.

Mehdi Bahrami Azar abd Mahtab Nabavi had to compete at different categories as there were not enough practitioners in their own division.

The Iranian squad was led by Payam Khanlarkhani, Mehdi Ahmadi as well as Massoud Lashkari.

The 4th Asian Para Taekwondo Open Championships was held in Hochiminh City, Vietnam on May 24, 2018.
