Significant 73% car import decrease in 1st month of current year

TEHRAN, Apr. 22 (MNA) – Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) in its latest report announced the considerable 73 percent slump of car import in the first month of the current Iranian calendar year in 1396 (from March 21 to April 22).

IRICA put the cars imported into the country in the same period at 1,034, showing a considerable 73 percent decline as compared to the same period of last year.

About 1,034 cars, worth about $24000, were imported into the country in the same period, showing a significant 73 and 77 percent decrease in terms of number and value respectively.

IRICA also put the cars imported into the country in the past Iranian calendar year in 1396 (ended March 20, 2018) at 70,075, valued at $1,838,851,000, showing a considerable 8.66 and 8.44 percent slump in terms of number and value respectively.

With regard to the customs clearance of imported cars, moreover obtaining goods order registration process before declaring to the customs, customs offices of the country embark on approving specifications of cars and licenses for registration of order and official agencies for the imported cars systematically, the report added.

Also, car clearance certificates also will be provided to Car Plate Numbering Centers electronically through Integrated Comprehensive Customs System (ICCS) and Single-Window Trade system as well, IRICA reported.
