“This year, the number of pilgrims who attended the Arabaeen March increased thanks to the coordination made by the central committee of the rituals,” said Chairman of Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Alaeddin Boroujerdi on Wednesday.
The Iranian senior MP made the remarks during his meeting with Iraqi Ambassador to Iran Rajeh Al-Mousavi in Tehran.
“On the other hand, considering the problems that issuing visas for 2.5 million people in a short time can have, the Iraqi embassy in Tehran and the ambassador himself did a great job to handle the magnitude of the project,” highlighted the Iranian lawmaker.
“With good bilateral relations between Iran and Iraq in mind, it is expected to have visa cancellation policy between Iran and Iraq to let better services offered to the pilgrims of the important even,” Mr. Boroujerdi added.
“The relations between Iran and Iraq are at the best status of all-time and I, at my own capacity, offer gratitude to all the endeavors of Iraqi Ambassador to Tehran, Mr. Rajeh al-Mousavi,” concluded the Iranian legislator.
